Ultimate Team of the Season has arrived in FC 26 Ultimate Team, and with it comes some of the most anticipated FUT Champs rewards of the year. After grinding through Weekend League and securing Rank 1, the rewards opening promised huge potential. Salah impressed throughout the weekend despite stats that did not fully reflect his impact due to live event matches not counting toward his record.

The defense was equally strong. Shawinga dominated the wing, Pau Torres proved to be a defensive monster, and Saliba continued to perform at a top level. One of the biggest surprises remained Puville, an incredibly cheap card that still held its own among elite-tier players.

After achieving Rank 1, expectations for the rewards were massive.

Early Player Picks Start Strong

The opening rewards began with several player picks and SBC rewards. Saka appeared early in an 88+ pick, immediately sparking excitement. Soon after, tradeable Team of the Season cards like Sane showed up, bringing solid coin value.

However, the excitement quickly cooled as duplicate cards and low-value TOTS players started appearing repeatedly. Despite opening multiple 91+ Team of the Season player picks, the rewards felt surprisingly average for Ultimate TOTS.

The Icon Player Pick also failed to deliver anything game-changing, offering choices like Ashley Cole and Angrer instead of the elite icons everyone hopes for this late in the cycle.

Rank 1 Red Picks Were Disappointing

The biggest moment of the rewards opening was the Rank 1 FUT Champs red picks. This is where players expect to see the absolute best cards in the game.

Instead, the picks were underwhelming.

Multiple low-tier Ultimate TOTS cards appeared repeatedly, including Patterson, Stanway, and Paula Fernandez. Despite going 15-0 in FUT Champs, none of the rewards reflected the difficulty of achieving Rank 1.

The frustration was obvious. Ultimate Team of the Season is supposed to feature the very best cards available, but many of the rewards felt more like standard fodder than elite FUT Champs prizes.

Not seeing players like Dembele, Bruno Fernandes, or Shawinga made the grind feel unrewarding.

Upgrade Packs Failed to Deliver

Things became even more frustrating once the massive upgrade packs were opened.

The 84x20, 85x20, 86x10, and even 89+ packs produced almost no Team of the Season cards at all. Several packs containing only gold cards felt shocking considering the stage of the game cycle.

Eventually, a few blue cards finally appeared, including Rodri and Bellingham, but most were low-value pulls with very little impact. Even tradeable Ultimate TOTS cards like Stanway had dropped massively in value, making the rewards feel far less exciting.

One bright moment came from an 11 Team of the Season pack featuring multiple high-rated players, but even then, the actual market value was disappointing compared to expectations.

RTG Account Had Better Luck

Surprisingly, the RTG account ended up performing much better overall.

The squad itself was already competitive, with Wule once again leading the attack while Shawinga and Barbara supported from wide positions. Bruno Fernandes had clearly changed expectations for attacking midfielders thanks to his Long Ball Plus playstyle, making other players feel slightly incomplete by comparison.

The RTG rewards immediately looked more promising. Multiple 95-rated cards appeared early, and the account consistently packed more Team of the Season players than the main account.

The biggest highlight was pulling Erling Haaland from the FUT Champs red picks. Although he was not considered the perfect fit for the playstyle being used, it was still a major improvement over the rewards on the main account.

Compared to the main account, the RTG simply felt luckier throughout the entire opening session.

The Biggest Problem With Ultimate TOTS

One major issue became impossible to ignore during the rewards opening: Ultimate Team of the Season includes too many low-rated cards.

Seeing 92 and 93-rated players repeatedly appear in packs and player picks dramatically lowers the excitement of Ultimate TOTS. Instead of every blue card feeling elite, many of them instantly become disappointing before the full animation even finishes.

This affects the entire reward structure. Massive packs that should feel exciting instead become flooded with low-value fodder cards. Even when Team of the Season cards appear, many of them are worth almost nothing on the market.

If EA had limited Ultimate TOTS to only 94-rated cards and above, the entire rewards experience would likely feel far more rewarding.

Final Thoughts on the Rewards

After all the packs, player picks, and rewards were opened, the overall feeling was mixed.

The RTG account definitely came out ahead thanks to better red picks and more consistent Team of the Season pulls. Meanwhile, the main account technically made more coins due to tradeable rewards, but the excitement factor simply was not there. Having plenty of FC 26 Coins can also be of great help to you.

For a Rank 1 FUT Champs finish during Ultimate Team of the Season, the rewards should feel incredible. Instead, many of the packs felt disappointing, repetitive, and overly dependent on luck.
